DRAMA CENTER 1998 - 1999

GLIMTAR - Graduation Film
Some short clips from my graduationfilm, GLIMTAR.

This film went out of control in the development and became way to arty.

ÖGONBLICKET / THE MOMENT

Written & Directed by Anders Skoglund (or?!?) produced by Lizette Jonjic and Mona Persson. I jumped into the editing seat when Thomas Brandt had to go on to the road to become a rockstar.

Editing this movie was really easy a lot of fun. Kudos for the great coverage.

HARRY MÖTER DÖDEN I KVADRAT / HARRY MEETS DEATH IN SQUARE

This video was directed by Chrsiter Öhrn and produced by Malin Kraft and Nicholas Richard. I jumped into the editing chair in this one when Thomas Brandt had do go on the road to become a rockstar...

According to the director this is suppopesed to be som mix between a Migh Lee art house film and screwball comedy from the 1930:s.

I didn't understand anything at the time when I was editing the movie. Got into a big argument with the director and all. But today I think it's quite funny. and ofcourse he was right. There's more than one way to make a movie...

SLUTFAS - 6:th exercise at Drama Center
This is the 6:th exercise at Drama Center, The premisse was to write a script that showed a moment of love in some intressting way. 3 weeks writing & planning, 1 day of shooting and 2 days of editing.

Even though this is very old now I kind of still like it.

Compressed

This is a compressed version of the film. I had to take one scene out in the midle and make som cuts in the beginning and end to make it under 2 minutes, so it's a little bit of beat.

Clip 01

This is just a short clip from the film.

PINSAM TYSTNAD - 5:th exercise
Exercise at Drama Center. The premisse was to write a script with 3 scenes, that took place on 3 locations and where 2 of them were a diaolouge between 2 people and 1 a dialouge between 4 poeple. 2 days of shooting and unlimited tape.

This one doesn´t relly make sense when it´s taken out of context. Neither does it look very good since we screwed up with the cinematography and sound. But I still like the script I wrote, the storrytelling I used and the acting.

For me this was kind of a turning point in understanding what directing is all about.

FÖRVÄXLINGEN / THE MIX-UP - Clip 01 - 4:th exercise

Clip from the 4:th exercise at Drama Center. Direct a totaly strange script without beeing allowed to talk to the writer. One day of shooting. (I don´t remeber if there where any other restrains as well)

I screw this one up as well. I totaly missread the script. I thought it was a comedy, when in fact it was more of a thriller. I also try to stage it like a play with very few set up:s. Didn´t work either.

Once again I gained experience. :-)

PERSPEKTIV / PERSPECTIVE - 3:rd exercise

3:rd exercise at Drama Center. Premiss; make a montage to music that tells a story. No dialouge. 1 day of shooting.

This one I manage to screw up as well. I threw in too much symbolism and to many shots and cuts threw this one totaly of beat.

Not! There's a garbage video clip from another film at the start of this one. Sorry I´ll try to replace it shortly.

HATA ATT ÄLSKA / I HATE LOVE - 2:nd exercise

The 2:nd exercise at the Drama Center filmschool. The premiss was; write a dialouge for 3 people, use 3 set ups, 20 minutes of tape and half a day of shooting. Direct your own script (thank you very much).

Kudos to Ola Magnestam for the cinemaphotography.

Drama Center, 1998

FIRST EXCERCISE; "DAVID"

Ofcourse I manged to more or less screw up my first exercise at the Drama Center filmschool to.

The premiss was; 2 set ups, 10 minutes of tape, half a day of shooting and to direct someonelses script.

Once again I gained experience. :-)

(Not! This script was NOT written by me. All the directors swapped scripts with eachother.)
